Rosie Blackburn has been interested in Antique maps from a very young age. Back in the early 1960s her father started collecting maps of Norfolk and now has an unrivalled collection of Norfolk maps dating from the late C16th to the mid C19th.
After closing her second-hand book shop in 1995 Rosie specialised in dealing in Antique British County Maps and Topographical Prints. She traded at Antique Fairs and Antique Centres in the Midland Counties.
In 2004 she took up a full-time position with a local auction house but still has a large stock of maps & prints which she now sells predominantly online.
What are British County Maps?
Maps of British counties that were printed on paper between the late C16th and late C19th. They were engraved on copper or steel and printed in black & white and then sometimes hand coloured. They were usually bound into atlases or travel books.
What are Topographical Prints?
Engravings of places i.e. views, landscapes or buildings such as churches or stately homes. Again these were copper or steel engravings usually produced for books. Many have been hand coloured at a later date.
If there is a particular place or building you are interested in please email your request.
